MBA Seeks Participants in New Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Study
The Mortgage Bankers Association introduces a new offering to its members — the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Study — separately designed and compiled for both the residential and commercial/multifamily sides of the real estate finance industry.
Over the past year, racial and gender inequalities have shaped our nation’s conversation, and MBA remains committed to supporting our member companies by forming solutions. MBA has been engaged with staff and leaders in the real estate finance industry on how to eliminate racial and gender inequalities within the mortgage industry, from the perspective of lending and servicing to borrowers, as well as staffing its own organizations.
This study is administered by world-class human resources advisory firm McLagan, a part of Aon plc. McLagan is a familiar name to many of you. For the past 15 years, MBA has recommended McLagan’s annual Compensation Survey Program to its members. Moreover, McLagan has recently conducted similar DEI studies for other financial services industries and is a trusted source for anonymized, aggregate data.
The MBA DEI Study will address the following key topics:
- Policy and Initiatives: General firm policies on diversity, equity and inclusion; recruitment initiatives; talent and training initiatives; and groups, networks and forums organized and supported by your company.
- Headcount by Mortgage Job Function: Staffing counts by gender and race, organized by mortgage functional area, including originations and servicing. The functional staffing matches the job categories in McLagan’s Annual Compensation Survey Program for the Mortgage Industry. As a supplement and not mutually exclusive, functional staffing counts by veteran status and people with disabilities are also tracked.
- Headcount by EEO-1 Categories: Staffing counts by gender and race, organized by Equal Employment Opportunity categories. As a supplement and not mutually exclusive, functional staffing counts by veteran status and people with disabilities are also tracked by EEO-1 category.
- Headcount by Movement: A look at staffing movement by gender and race for the first half of the year. Included in staff movement are: # promotions, # new hires, and # terminations.
Registration and participation in the study are required in order to receive results. Sign up today to give our industry a baseline from which to improve, and to see how your company compares to the industry as a whole.
