ADP: November Employment Up 307,000
Ahead of this Friday’s employment report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and this morning’s Labor Department report on initial claims, ADP, Roseland, N.J., said private-sector employment increased by 307,000 jobs from October to November.
The monthly ADP National Employment Report said by company size, small businesses (1-49 employees) added 110,000 jobs in November; medium businesses (50-499 employees) added 139,000 jobs and large businesses added 58,000 jobs.
By sector, goods-producing businesses added 31,000 jobs; service-providing businesses added 276,000 jobs; and professional/technical services businesses added 18,000 jobs.
“While November saw employment gains, the pace continues to slow,” said Ahu Yildirmaz, vice president and co-head of the ADP Research Institute. “Job growth remained positive across all industries and sizes.”
The Labor Department’s initial claims report comes out this morning at 8:30 a.m. ET; the BLS employment report comes out on Friday at 8:30 a.m. ET.
